Welcome

John 10:10, ‘Life in all its fullness’.

Welcome to St Gabriel’s C of E, a school who continually strives for excellence and for our pupils to be the very best version of themselves. In our view, academic success runs parallel alongside the development of the pupil’s character to prepare them for later life.

As a Church of England primary school, we look to the quote from John 10:10, ‘Life in all its fullness’ as inspiration and underpinning to our school vision of, ‘Communicating Strength; Inspiring our Community to Flourish’. We want our children to leave us with a secure base of knowledge which enables them to be confident and articulate communicators and model our school values. We believe that this will empower them to make choices for their next steps in life.

At St Gabriel’s, we follow a broad and balanced curriculum which focuses on the three core elements of academic excellence, character education and metacognition (learning to learn).

Our curriculum is enhanced by high quality facilities which enable real life experiences for children. Through the use of our innovative spaces, such as our Green Screen Studio, Podcast Studio, Art Studio, Blue Sky Café, our Kitchen Garden and Forest school, we are able to bring the bring learning alive, give it a real purpose and enable children to become subject experts such as Historians, Geographers or Artists.

Carefully chosen and sequentially planned extra-curricular activities and curriculum experiences further enhance our offer, enabling our children to learn beyond the curriculum and to connect with our community. Children have the opportunity to support younger children at a local nursery, volunteer at a charity, support our local foodbank, share letters and read with elder members of the community, for example.

We hope that this website provides you with all of the information you require. We warmly welcome you to arrange a visit to see what makes St Gabriel’s such an exceptional and rewarding school.
